Duty To God

The purpose of the program is to help young men prepare for the Melchizedek Priesthood, the temple endowment, a full-time mission, and fatherhood.

-The First Presidency

• We want to aid the young men in achieving the goal of Duty to God
• We now want to make Duty to God a focus and to do that we are going to set some "secondary awards" up for the young men to receive
• Deacons will get a $10 gift card
• Teachers will get a hot air balloon ride
• Priest will get scriptures for their mission
• We will send out weekly activities to accomplish via text, email, and also post them on this blog

This blog is dedicated to the Young Men of the Mighty Mount Jordan 1st Ward and their leaders and parents. It is meant to be an aid for parents in helping their sons earn their Duty To God award and the responsibilities of the Priesthood. It is our focus to help these Young Men accomplish the duties and purposes of the Aaronic Priesthood of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. These puposes are:

1. Become converted to the gospel of Jesus Christ and live by its teachings.
2. Magnify priesthood callings.
3. Give meaningful service.
4. Prepare to receive the Melchizedek Priesthood.
5. Commit to, worthily prepare for, and serve an honorable full-time mission.
6. Live worthy to receive temple covenants and prepare to become a worthy husband and father.
